Energy Efficiency 101 Course

John Lynn is a retired school teacher with 37 years’ experience. In 1996 he purchased land where he and his family weekended using stand-alone solar systems for their energy supply. After extensive study he designed the family home for the property which he owner built completing the project in 2001. From 2001 until 2012 the family was energy self sufficient when they went interactive with the grid and have consistently contributed around $4000 worth of electricity back into the grid since then. More importantly, the home’s design went off the BERS scale in energy efficiency and limits to being approx. 23 degrees all year round. Now having lived an energy efficient lifestyle for 25 years John is using his teaching skills to share his knowledge with those who want to know more.
